It is a welcoming place to explore, located in a region of sparkling lakes and rolling Wisconsin farmland. Rustic roads wind through the countryside past ducks and Canadian geese, delicate wildflowers, stately trees and quiet
pastures. Delavan is surprisingly unique, with a strong circus history, outstanding recreational and educational facilities, prosperous agricultural, commercial and industrial firms and a people genuinely proud of their community. Delavan offers a perfect blend of cosmopolitan and metropolitan flavor seldom found in smaller cities.

Parks & Recreation

The Delavan and Delavan Lakes area is one of the most popular resort locations in Wisconsin with exciting water sports, golf, outdoor special events and seasonal activities. Delavan’s park system contains more than 100 acres of beautifully maintained natural preserves, parks, picnic areas, athletic fields and playgrounds. Delavan’s robust park system offers a swimming pond (staffed by lifeguards), sledding hill, botanical garden, bandshell and memorial arboretum. Discover over two miles of winding waterways and nature trails that pass through picturesque parks. Town of Delavan Community Park is also a popular recreation and event site.

Delavan’s park system is robust and worth exploring. Of special note, and a true hidden treasure, are the free concerts offered throughout the summer months at Phoenix Park, typically Saturday nights. Walk and shop along downtown’s historic brick street, stop for dinner, enjoy the concert, and make more memories. Special community-wide events are regularly scheduled throughout downtown Delavan and at Community Park in the Town of Delavan as well.

Congdon Gardens was established through the Delavan-Darien Rotary Club and can be discovered while strolling the nearly one-mile loop around the pond or by sitting peacefully on a park bench.
